Polar FT2 Amazing product!
Works as advertised. Helps me keep my workout going! I am starting to use it all day to make sure my body doesn't overheat too.
Polar FT2 3rd monitor.
Have been purchasing these polar monitors for 25yrs. Recently purchased a "super cool" monitor that was another brand. Used it once, seemed overly complicated and could not see the numbers while I was riding (I'm a senior). It went to my son and I purchased my old standby. Works great, gives the info I want and I can see it.

Polar FT2 Watch Works with WearLink
Polar FT2 Watch Works with WearLink
I have owned a number of Polar HRMs. In the old days the cheaper models would only work with the funky plastic straps they came with. Recently Polar has started manufacturing models like the FT2 which, though it comes with a plastic strap, has a coded transmission signal and will work with a WearLink. This is good news, since the WearLink is vastly superior to the plastic strap.
The one-button operation on the FT2 simplifies set-up. It is easier to remember what does what -- in fact, remembering is not needed. However, it does take some patience, because you must wait for a prompt from the watch before you enter a setting. It prompts for higher input, then for lower input, then for acceptance. This is a little bit of a nuisance, and I just leave it in exercise mode all the time, since I only use it in a gym setting.
Many gym machines, like ellipticals, scissors machines, and treadmills, have built-in Polar receivers and will read out heart rate info. That makes separate receivers like the FT2 only optional. However, I like to see the output on a separate receiver, and for me something like the FT2 is beneficial.

Polar FT2 Heart Rate Monitor Easy to use.
Polar FT2 Heart Rate Monitor Easy to use.
This heart monitor is easy to set up and easy to use. It monitors your heart rate and will tell you the length of your workout, your average heart rate, and your highest heart rate. Sometimes you have to wet the electrodes on the chest band to get a signal--this is not a big deal to me. Many of the gym machines will pick up the monitor and show you heart rate which is cool. The only function I don't like is that it beeps to tell you that your heart rate is too high or too low. I do not know how to turn it off and it is embarrassing when I am at the gym but it is only for about 30 seconds. There are fancier models that let you download data into your computer but if you are looking for an easy to use heart rate monitor that is reliable, this may be the one.

Polar FT2 GREAT!!
Polar FT2 GREAT!!
I use the Polar FT2 4 or 5 times a day & it is great. It gives you your Avg & Maximum Hr for any given session, so I thought I can use these 2 values to work out what my lowest Hr was. But I've checked & it's always wrong. For instance on one session my Avg Hr was 113 & Max Hr was 228, so my lowest Hr should be -2)minus 2) which is clearly wrong. Another session the Avg Hr was 109 & Max Hr was 199, so my lowest Hr should be 18) this has to be wrong. Has anyone else tried this?

Polar FT2 It is just what I was looking for
Polar FT2 It is just what I was looking for.
I was looking for a quality heart monitor for while I work out and this is just what I was looking for. It arrived very promptly and in working order. I am very pleased.
Polar FT2 Very good.
Everything very good.... the button has a protector lip to it... too high for my ergonomics taste. But is doing all I want. Strap is MUCH better than previous models
good way to fit the wrist better and stops the in between fit.

Polar FT2 Heart Rate Monitor Works Great.
Polar FT2 Heart Rate Monitor Works Great.
Got this to replace an old model - bty dies. The monitor (watch) is very comfortsble and like my other Polar products works great. Links with equipment at my gym.
Polar FT2 Heart Rate Monitor Works Well.
I wanted a simple HRM to use while following the backpacking training program in The Outdoor Athlete. The FT 2 performed well on an initial test outing(walking, biking, jogging). I had no trouble inputting the initial settings or interpreting the readouts. While jogging the signal from the chest band to transmitter became intermittent but turning the watch on the wrist to face my chest eliminated that.
One note, I had read several HRM reviews that complained about lost transmitter signals so I bought and used the electrode gel.

Polar FT2 Nice, basic heart rate monitor
Polar FT2 Nice, basic heart rate monitor.
A couple of months ago I began doing TeamBeachBody Insanity. I didn't think anything of having a heart rate monitor. It was mentioned a few times during my training and I eventually decided to get one because I had no idea if I was staying within the range I was supposed to be in. While this is a great HR monitor it's almost a little bit too basic. When you change settings you have to wait a few seconds before being able to change the next setting. Granted this is a small thing but just annoying enough for me to end up getting the Polar FT7F Heart Rate Monitor Watch.
